Week 3 EOC: My Demographics

The Millennials description fit me very well, but however I am a mixture of both Millennial and Gen X.  I indentify with the Gen X by the budgeting aspect and not being materialistic as well as being skeptical and taking investment into serious consideration. Being young I’m the type of person that looks beyond the present so I can be prepared for the worst or better. Other than those points, I mostly identify with my own generation. I began getting heavily into technology in my 8th grade year in school, it start it off googling my favorite music group, but then it progress into the Mysapce fad. Immediately I became addicted, and I haven’t been right ever since but I’ve learned a lot about html codes, email, instant messaging, and different types of viruses so it was beneficial. If any information that I needed it would be online, if it’s not online I wouldn’t know about. That’s how glued I am to technology it’s sad, but it’s just so easy just to go on a social network or any news website or even Youtube to find out something. The fact that the internet is instant gratification makes it fascinating and convenient, things like music and games can be easy to get also free making it practically a one stop shop type of aspect on their phone or mp3. Personally since I’m exposed to so much instant gratification I get distracted easy or more so spaced out, so I need very eye popping advertisement to catch my attention as well as quality in a product to make me actually want to purchase the product. So if a person wants to sale to me it has to be promoted online and everywhere else, it has to be interesting, and it has to be good quality to close the deal.
“One thing that all of the Millennials have in common is their utter fluency and comfort with digital technology. They don’t just embrace technology, it’s a way of life.” (Marketing An Introduction, P. 17)

Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

Reading the “Videogame Makers Can’t Dodge Recession” article it seems as if the videogame industry is suffering so much that there might not be stars or cash cows within the industry. But even though this particular article is stating the struggle of the industry, there’s a huge amount of gamers out there as well as TV networks like G4 to keep its consumers updated with the industry. I do believe the thing that really is hurting the industry from a consumer point of view is definitely the prices of the videogames. They can be a little more affordable, but the star in this industry is the consoles, obviously without the consoles there wouldn’t be videogames. The cash cow is the videogames, once when someone purchases a console of course you have to get a videogame. Consoles and videogames go hand and hand you can’t do without the other. The question mark might be new development and feature they might want to add to the already made consoles or even developing a whole another console. The videogame industry is at a standstill it that it might be good to create another console for exposure purposes, but might be bad because companies are having difficulties selling already made consoles. The dog in this industry is the probably the accessories that come with the consoles or videogames, I never really see them get advertised, it’s always just the videogame or the console. Now, if you ask me the BGC of game consoles. The star is the Xbox because it gets advertised the most, the question mark is the PS3 because of its competitor Xbox, the cash cow is the Wii because its more cheaper than the Xbox and PS3, and the Nintendo handheld’s are dogs because there rarely advertised and why get a handheld, when you can get a console with a lot more features.

Week 1 EOC "Great Cusomer Service"

Los Burritos is a neighborhood Mexican restaurant that I think has great service. The place is clean that’s what I notice first, the buffet counter top of the restaurant is weird but it was still fine at least you saw what was going into your meal right in front of you. The meat is fresh, that’s always a big deal for me. I remembered I got food poisoning from Roberto’s because the meat wasn’t fresh so now with Mexican restaurant’s I’m a little cautious with that. The man making my burrito was nice and cute, he was very talkative and he actually cared enough to ask me question like do I to school and general questions like that. He made my burrito how I wanted it and he even gave me a discount on my meal, it’s like he really cared about me coming back. I appreciate restaurants like that, they have workers that care and make sure customers come back just by doing little things like, cleaning, talking to the customer, and give what the customer wants. And the simple fact it’s in my neighborhood makes easier for me if I want some more of their food I don’t have to go far. The portion size of the burrito was perfect for me it was really big and fat I love my burritos like that I had enough for leftovers, plus they gave out little coupons so you would be able to get a free burrito so that was really cool. Overall I would defiantly come back.
"Customer relationships and value are especially important in today’s tough economic times, when more frugal consumers are cutting back and spending more carefully." (Marketing an Introduction, p.2)

Week 1 EOC "My Voice"

In middle school I began to think about what I wanted to do in the future. At first I wanted to be a chef, but discover that I’m really not that good at cooking and I don’t have the patients for it, so I thought about what else I wanted to do. Than it came to my mind, other than food I liked fashion. Since there’s a variety of a job within the fashion industry, I knew I wouldn’t have a problem with losing interest or passion for it. Doing research on the different types of careers in the fashion industry, I chose to aspire to become a fashion buyer or something in merchandising. Now that I have achieved my goal getting in to The Art Institute, I spending time trying to excel in my career by getting as much retail experience as I can, staying focus on what I want to do, and keeping my passion. My plan when I graduate is too buy clothing for thrifts stores or maybe buy historical costumes for a museum. Since there’s no costume museum in Las Vegas, I probably would like to intern for a museum out of state then come back and try to open up my own. It would be a museum/thrift store. Its way of me combining two things I enjoy history and fashion, and that’s what I’m determined to do.

Slash

Slash is a clothing label that I created to extend my already existing brand missanalvomit. The line consists of shirts, accessories, and underwear. And it visually expresses the views of the character missanalvomit, using propaganda, humor, and sarcasm. The personal meaning behind the name was first, it’s simple, second when I thought of slash I thought of the symbol, I looked on my keyboard and the first thing I looked at was the back slash button. I love the fact its vertical and that it was just a line, lines are never ending like my thoughts, to me that fit perfectly. The views of missanalvomit are strong and impulsive, without a doubt her opinion matters and she always has something to say. Either its sarcastic or serious missvom (missanalvomit) thoughts never end.
