The Millennials description fit me very well, but however I am a mixture of both Millennial and Gen X. I indentify with the Gen X by the budgeting aspect and not being materialistic as well as being skeptical and taking investment into serious consideration. Being young I’m the type of person that looks beyond the present so I can be prepared for the worst or better. Other than those points, I mostly identify with my own generation. I began getting heavily into technology in my 8th grade year in school, it start it off googling my favorite music group, but then it progress into the Mysapce fad. Immediately I became addicted, and I haven’t been right ever since but I’ve learned a lot about html codes, email, instant messaging, and different types of viruses so it was beneficial. If any information that I needed it would be online, if it’s not online I wouldn’t know about. That’s how glued I am to technology it’s sad, but it’s just so easy just to go on a social network or any news website or even Youtube to find out something. The fact that the internet is instant gratification makes it fascinating and convenient, things like music and games can be easy to get also free making it practically a one stop shop type of aspect on their phone or mp3. Personally since I’m exposed to so much instant gratification I get distracted easy or more so spaced out, so I need very eye popping advertisement to catch my attention as well as quality in a product to make me actually want to purchase the product. So if a person wants to sale to me it has to be promoted online and everywhere else, it has to be interesting, and it has to be good quality to close the deal.
“One thing that all of the Millennials have in common is their utter fluency and comfort with digital technology. They don’t just embrace technology, it’s a way of life.” (Marketing An Introduction, P. 17)
